Design Proposals for Clothes for Disabled Men

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the most important difficulties that men with mobility disabilities (wheelchairs) may encounter while wearing clothes, and to determine the standards that must be met in their clothes, and then present a set of appropriate design proposals that provide comfort and ease of use. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach to study some types of motor disabilities (the two wheelchairs) and the experimental approach by presenting design proposals for clothes. The study concluded with many conclusions, including the need to pay attention to designing clothes for people with special needs in accordance with their needs, and to suit them with the different differences in the proportions and dimensions of the body, in addition to the need to pay attention to choosing the materials used in ready-made clothes in order to suit the needs of this group that require that they bear tension and friction. To extend the consumable life of clothes, as well as to overcome the problem of wearing and undressing clothes by choosing appropriate places to put the closing tools.
