Evaluating of Distance Learning Process During the Corona Pandemic from Parent’s Point of View
Abstract
The study tried to evaluate the distance learning process during the Corona pandemic in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from parent's point of view for students who study remotely during the Corona Pandemic in the Academic Year 1442 AH. The findings of the study showed that parents trust the official educational platforms, as the percentage of use of Mandumat Alta'leem Almuhadah reached (56.5%) and the IEN educational platform (54.3%). In terms of accessibility of these educational platforms, according to the parents' point of view, reached nearly (50%), this percentage also close to the positive point of view of presents about the content of educational platforms (56%-54%). The findings show that 56% of parents see that there is a commitment from teachers to educate and follow up of their children, also they believe (65%) that the school and student guidance provided their children with instructions that helped them in the process of easy transitioning to distance education. The study shows that one of the biggest challenges faced by parents was the lack of sufficient computers for each of their children, and the weakness of the Internet or frequent interruptions by 82%, 81% respectively. At the end of the study concluded a few recommendations, including the need to take into account the level educational and economical for parents when adopting technical solutions in education, and there is great importance of providing technical support during the distance learning, and availability banks of questions that may help students and parents to overcome those difficulties and guides them in LMS. Final recommendations it can be said that e-learning models cannot be unified for all educational levels, as the needs of children in the primary stage differ from the requirements of mature students in the secondary educational stage.
