Analytical Study of the Problems of School Sports Uniform and its Requirements for Middle School Students
Abstract
The design of sportswear needs attention to achieve comfort for the athletes, while school sportswear produced for teenage girls needs more care in its design and production, as they are subjected to stress as a result of movement, frequent use and washing, and the nature of the teenage population. School uniform is one of the most prominent uniforms, the most visible and widespread, as it is one of the most consumed types of clothing and is exposed to many stress factors due to the frequent daily use. The current research aims to study the problems of school sports uniforms and its requirements for middle school students, through:
1- Exposing the problems facing middle school students in the current sportswear.
2- Determining the aesthetic and functional requirements for the school sports uniform for middle school students.
1- Determining the problems of the current school sports uniform from the viewpoint of middle school students.
The results indicated:
- The highest problems related to the comfort of the material from the students ’point of view were the lack of sweat drying from the shirt, the appearance of an unpleasant odor, and the lack of elongation and elasticity of the material in the pants.
- The highest problems related to care and consumer life from the female students ’point of view were color instability, shrinkage, styling, and wrinkling.
- The highest problems related to the functional aspect of the design from the students ’point of view were the inadequate length of the pants and the lack of a jacket.
- The highest problem related to sizes from the point of view of students is the length of the pants, and the fit of the measurements is the least present problem in the functional aspect of the school sports uniform.
- The highest problems related to the aesthetic aspect from the female students ’point of view were the inadequacy of the color and the lack of modernity in the design.
2- Determining the functional and aesthetic requirements for the school sports uniform for middle school students.
1- Taking into account the preferences and requirements of female students when designing and producing school uniforms, as this has a great impact on them in accepting the uniform.
2- Paying attention to setting local standard specifications and requirements for school uniforms, which include functional requirements, and approving them by the competent authorities.
3- Laying down a list and principles for sports education clothes by specialists at the Ministry of Education.
4- Using the students' favorite colors that are appropriate for the age group and the prevailing climate.
5- Conducting more studies on the school sports uniform for female students to work to meet their needs and requirements.
