Corona Pandemic and Body Language in a Local Community - Al-Mahmoudiyah District is a Model
(A field sociological study in social understanding and communication)
Abstract
Corona is a health and social phenomenon with human dimensions, a crisis that revealed a global similarity in concerns and problems. It has made social distancing a social behavior to achieve individual responsibility towards society and others and the responsibility of society in preserving oneself and human existence, by adhering to quarantine as a mean and an indication of concern and prevention. The stages of development of the Corona pandemic and the speed of its spread have repercussions and social, economic and psychological effects on the individual and society levels, unless physical distancing is respected. Explaining the importance of body language is an important factor in the process of social communication. Therefore, the research sample included (100) respondents from employees in the various districts of Mahmoudiyah in Baghdad governorate, using the social survey method. The aim of the research is to identify the most important societal measures that have been taken by individuals to apply physical distancing to limit the spread of the pandemic or reduce its impact. Spatial health distancing is more than social distancing to maintain social ties. The most prominent results of the research are the confirmation of the vast majority of the respondents of their feeling. With fear after the world has gathered together on one concern and a common destiny.
In addition to their affirmation of the importance of body language in the long run if the pandemic continues for a longer period, and the most important recommendations are to find alternatives to social communication between individuals to ensure the continuation and perpetuation of social relations because people are by nature social, and the need to employ body language in the educational process because of its role in attracting others And get their attention with the least time and effort.
