Educational Lessons Derived from Surah Al-Qari'ah and Their Applications to Individual Personality

Abstract

This study examines Surah al-Qari‘ah as a Makkan chapter that employs powerful rhetorical imagery to awaken human consciousness and draw attention to the realities of the Day of Judgment. The Surah presents vivid scenes of the great calamity, highlighting the overwhelming events that will reshape the human understanding of accountability, justice, and the true weight of one’s actions. The research aims to extract the educational implications embedded within the Surah through a thematic analytical approach that explores its linguistic expressions, contextual meanings, and overarching moral messages.

The findings of the study reveal several key educational values emphasized in the Surah. Among the most important is strengthening the believer’s faith in the Hereafter, a central component of Islamic spiritual formation. The Surah also reinforces the concept of personal responsibility, reminding individuals that every deed—small or great—will be weighed on the divine scale of justice. This notion encourages moral vigilance, self-reflection, and the development of an internal sense of accountability.
