The Effect of the Difference in Weft Material on the Properties of Sportswear Fabrics
Abstract
Sportswear fabrics are one of the most important requirements for sports activities. The design of sportswear affects the psychological aspects of comfort to help raise the level of athletic performance, in addition to providing the required amount of protection. The intrinsic natural properties of the filaments and the geometric structure of the tissues directly affect the properties of fabrics, including tensile strength and elongation, thermal insulation, friction resistance, air permeability, water absorption and bacteria resistance. These properties determine the behaviour of fabrics, especially in the field of sportswear.
The research aims to:
1- Determine the functional properties that must be available in karate sports clothing fabrics.
2- Measure the functional properties that achieve efficiency in the produced karate sports clothing fabrics.
3- Know the effect of the weft material on the functional properties of woven karate sports clothing fabrics.
The research recommended:
-1 Benefiting from the research results by conducting more scientific studies to set standard specifications for woven karate sportswear fabrics.
-2 Conducting scientific studies with objective and subjective measurements to achieve efficiency in sportswear in general and karate sportswear in particular.
-3 The necessity of linking scientific research centers with factory owners and producers of sports fabrics, and benefiting from them to localize the sportswear fabric industry.
4- Conducting scientific studies on the antibacterial property of bamboo and cotton materials by treating them with natural materials that are harmless to humans and the environment.
