Abstract

Many poets of Andalusia were subject to prison terms not as an opposition group; Rather, because the poet among them was a political position whose life was affected by the volatility of the internal situation in Andalusian society, some of them were those who died in prison by death, such as Al-Mu'tamid bin Abbad, or by murder, such as the poet Abu Marwan Abdul-Muttalib bin Idris Al-Jaziri,  the meanings of prison poetry among poets participated in describing the state of the prison and its impact on them psychologically, emotionally and physically, asking for amnesty and releasing them subject to submission and cringing. some of them said poetry in prison and defended himself with courage, but without cringing and meekness, like the poet minister Ibn Zaidoun, this research deals with the poet Ibn Zaydoon, who gained a prominent position in Andalusian society, where he became a strong artistic figure and has become famous, and tasted the taste of love and affection, before sorrowing despair, sadness and avoidance.

Imprisonment is a place that the human soul abhors because of its painful psychological connotation in a person’s life, the Andalusian poet Ibn Zaydoon (d. 463 AH) received a prison sentence for his love for the midwife of the daughter of the caliph al-Mustakfi (d. 416 AH), Many misfortunes befell him, including his opponent, with his opponent, Minister Abu Amer Ibn Abdus, in her love, minister Abu Amer Ibn Abdus did not hesitate to cast a conspiracy against Ibn Zaydoon that sent him to prison, despite his denial of the accusation leveled against him, he was tried and stressed because of old anger that was between him and the judge who tried him, and his sense of remorse that accompanied him in his prison was the motivation for him in forming several poems that carries the description of his condition and his suffering, sympathetic, and admonishing the rulers  to release him, but without humiliation.
