The Interests of Collegians towards “Telegram” and Its Relation to Their Education Level
(A field study)
Abstract
This research deals with a study field about the trends of university students for the "telegram" program and its relationship with the scientific level , As the Telegram application is one of the social applications of interest to university students, it is an application that specializes in instant messaging and allows exchange of messages with high potential, Especially photo messages, videos and documents, as well as extensive security features and its use of a special encryption protocol that guarantees the highest degree of protection for users. The research community determined the university youth in two colleges of the University of Iraq are (the College of Medicine and the College of Mass Media) and (200) forms were distributed to males and females divided by the number of shares (100) for each of them through the method of chance sample from the users of the Telegram application. The survey designed a questionnaire containing three main axes prepared in order to identify the university students' attitudes towards the application of social telegram and its relationship to the scientific level, And revealing the extent of the university students ’interest in what is published through the social telegram application, as well as identifying the most prominent technical elements in the application, the extent of the university students’ interest in what is published in the social telegram application in shaping their attitudes towards it, and the extent of their use of this application. The results of the research showed that the research sample from students of scientific and human colleges are adopting the application of telegram on a large scale to communicate with each other in the form of scientific brochures during which they exchange their scientific materials, preparations and daily lessons, in addition to recording lectures and publishing them on their personal pages in the application or in the groups that they create among them , The research also showed that university students are considered the most easy application of telegrams in spending their free time and entertainment through it, as well as many other results that resulted from the research.
